St. Anthony had chances in each of the extra innings. But they stranded single runners in the 8th and 10th and left a pair of runners on base in the 9th and 11th.

At one time, the Bulldogs held a 3-0 lead. Will Fearday’s RBI single put them ahead 1-0 in the second. In the third, Brock Fearday had a run-scoring single and another runner scored on a wild pitch. The Griffins tied the score with a three-run fourth.

SAHS had a great opportunity to take control in the fifth. Three straight singles loaded the bases with no outs. But Will Fearday’s sacrifice fly drove in the only run of the inning. Father McGivney tied the game in the bottom of the fifth.

Joe Tegeler took the loss after coming on in relief in the eighth inning. He allowed three hits and two unearned runs, while walking one and striking out three in his 3.1 innings of work. Lauritzen was the starter and pitched the first seven innings. He gave up seven hits and five runs, while walking four and striking out four.

The Bulldogs are now 18-2. They will be back in action today (Friday), traveling to Belleville East.
