Dixon 57; Lawrenceville 49

Darius Harrington turned in an impressive double-double, leading the Dixon Dukes to a 57-49 victory over Lawrenceville in a second-round game played in Teutopolis.

Harington turned in his second straight 30-plus scoring performance in the tournament, pumping in 36 points. He also pulled down 13 rebounds.

Jayden Goff led the Indians with 16 points.

 

Lutheran North 46; Newton 22

Lutheran North held Newton to just four points in the second half, en route to a 46-22 decision in a second-round game played at Effingham.

The Crusaders held a 27-18 lead at halftime, but then outscored the Eagles 19-4 in the final two quarters to pull ahead.

Karter Blakemore had 10 points for Lutheran North.

 

Charleston 60; Belvidere 47

The Charleston Trojans built a double-digit lead at halftime and maintained it throughout, finishing with a 60-47 victory over Belvidere.

The Trojans led 28-17 at intermission.

Tyler Oakley pumped in 26 points for Charleston to lead all scorers, while teammate Luke Bonstetter added 16. Demetrius Taborn had 11 for Belvidere.

 

Pleasant Plains 46; Mattoon 28

Pleasant Plains outscored Mattoon 29-14 in the middle two quarters, en route to a 46-28 victory in a game played at J.H. Griffin Gymnasium in T-Town.

The Cardinals and Green Wave were tied 9-9 after the opening eight minutes, but by the end of the third quarter, Pleasant Plains owned a 38-23 advantage.

Cooper Schallenberg led Pleasant Plains with 20 points. Lincoln Hayes scored 10 points for Mattoon.

Pleasant Plains, coached by former Teutopolis standout Kyle Weber, will play the Wooden Shoes at 7:30 p.m. Friday in a semifinal contest.

 

Lincoln Way East 65; Tolono Unity 50

Lincoln Way East, one of the tournament favorites and winners of the last two Holiday Classics, went on a big scoring surge in the middle two quarters, en route to a 65-50 decision over Tolono Unity.

The Griffins were scheduled to face St. Anthony in a semifinal contest at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The Rockets held an 18-15 lead after the first period, but Lincoln Way East outscored Tolono Unity 45-18 over the next 16 minutes to take a 60-36 advantage into the final quarter.

Will Buchanan scored 17 points for the Griffins.
