The Effingham and Teutopolis boys golf teams squared off Wednesday afternoon at Effingham Country Club.

Austin Waldorf shot a 40 and Tate Niebrugge added a 41, leading the Hearts to a 170-198 victory over the Wooden Shoes.

Ryker Schneider finished with a 44 and Aiden Beck added a 45 to round out the EHS scoring. Also playing for Effingham were Ben Donsbach (48), Ethan Ritz (54), Nick Burgess (54), Colby Haynes (54) and David Spechtler (54).

T-Town was led by Drew Kerner and Zach Ruholl, who shot 44 and 45 respectively. Andy Niebrugge finished with a 54 and Gabe Schlick 55 to complete the scoring. Also competing were Kayden Zerrusen (60), Gavin Meyer (62), Petyon Tegeler (65), Paul Niemerg (71) and Gage Wendt (76).

The Hearts will play today (Thursday) at Charleston.

Teutopolis, along with Effingham and St. Anthony, will play Friday and Saturday in the Mattoon Invitational.
