The Effingham boys golf season came to a close Monday afternoon as neither Aiden Beck nor Tate Niebrugge were able to qualify for the state tournament.

Both EHS golfers competed in the Charleston Class 2A Sectional, played at the Charleston Country Club.

Beck shot an 83 and missed a state tourney berth by just three strokes. Niebrugge finished with a 92.

“I’m very proud of these two young men,” said EHS coach Jeff Schafer. “They have been a huge part of our success these past four years. They have played the 1 and 2 spots for at least the last three years and have been our leaders. We are going to miss them next year.”
