The Effingham girls tennis team ended its regular season in Flora Tuesday afternoon with a 6-0, rain-shortened loss.

The doubles matches were not played due to rain.

“Three singles matches went to tiebreakers, but all came up a couple points short,” said EHS coach Erik Williamson. “A few key points and we’re tied 3-3 with Flora, who is right there with some of the best teams around. I’m excited about how far we’ve come with so many young players.”

Here are the results:

No. 1 singles: Emma Walden (F) defeated Caroline Kull (E), 6-1, 6-3; No. 2 singles: Emma Griffith (F) defeated Lydia Kull (E), 6-2, 6-0; No. 3 singles: Sophia Heath (F) defeated Riley Seachrist (E), 6-3, 5-7, 10-2; No. 4 singles: Lanie Carder (F) defeated Eden Wendling (E), 6-3, 6-0; No. 5 singles: Ava Cammon (F) defeated Gracie Kroenlein (E), 6-4, 7-6; No. 6 singles: Avy Nichols (F) defeated Aial Woomer (E), 6-4, 5-7, 10-8.
