Lady Hearts blank Charleston
The Effingham Lady Hearts were dominant Tuesday afternoon, posting a 9-0 shutout over Charleston in girls tennis.
The Lady Hearts swept all six singles and each of the three doubles matches and didn't drop a single set.

Lady Bulldogs fall to Olney
St. Anthony’s top two singles players posted wins Tuesday afternoon, but the Lady Bulldogs dropped a 6-3 decision to Olney.
St. Anthony also won the No. 1 doubles match, but the Lady Tigers came out on top in the other matches.

St. Anthony wins triangular
Thomas Chojnicki and Lane Ludwig both shot sub-40 rounds, helping the St. Anthony boys golf team post a win Tuesday afternoon over Shelbyville and Okaw Valley in a match played at Eagle Creek Golf Course.
Chojnicki fired a nine-hole total of 37 and Ludwig shot 38, helping the Bulldogs to a 158 total and comfortably ahead of Okaw Valley’s 183 and Shelbyville’s 193.
Michael Martelli shot 41 and Jonathan Willenborg 42 to round out the team score. Also playing for the Bulldogs were Aidan Tegeler, 43; Grant Nuxoll, 45; and Charlie Wegman, 47.
Hearts, Wooden Shoes compete in triangular
The Effingham and Teutopolis boys golf teams competed in a triangular Tuesday afternoon, but Vandalia came away the winner.
The Vandals finished with a total of 145, followed by Effingham with 181 and T-Town 188.
For the Hearts, Ryker Schnieder and Colby Hayner led the way, both shooting 43. Preston Latch shot 47 and Nick Burgess 48 to complete the team score. Max Woelfer (49) and Ethan Ritz (49) also competed.
For the Shoes, Hayden Jansen finished with a 45, followed by Andy Niebrugge at 46, Gabe Schlink 48 and Ethan Thoele 49 to complete the team score. Jack Poelker (52) and Max Niebrugge (54) also competed.
T-Town girls win triangular
The Lady Shoes traveled to Eagle Creek Golf Course Tuesday and came home with a victory.
THS and Shelbyville actually ended in a tie with 209 total strokes, but the Lady Shoes won the tiebreaker. Okaw Valley was third with a 239.
Averie Bushue was the overall medalist and led T-Town with a 41. Abigail Wortman shot 50, Alaina Helmink 56 and Mollie Koester 62 to round out the team score. When a tie occurs, the score of the fifth best score for each team determines the winner. In this case, Lexie Niebrugge’s 63 clinched the win for the Lady Shoes.
