Joe Tegeler pitched four-plus strong innings and the St. Anthony Bulldogs banged out 15 hits, en route to a 16-5, six-inning win Saturday over the University Trailblazers.
University came back to take the nightcap, 13-3, and hand SAHS its first loss of the season.
Tegeler allowed seven hits and four runs, while walking two and striking out three in 4.1 innings of work. Sam Link and Aiden Lauritzen finished up.
The Bulldogs took control early with a five-run first inning. Beau Adams singled and Lauritzen walked to get things started. Connor Roepke and Will Fearday drove in runs with ground outs, Brady Hatton had an RBI single and two runs scored on errors.
Adams, Hatton and Link all finished with three hits.
The Trailblazers used a five-run second to take control in the nightcap.
Vince Vogel had an RBI double in the second and the Bulldogs scored two more in the fifth. Adams drove in one with a base hit and the other run scored on an error.
Hatton took the loss.
St. Anthony, now 11-1, will return home Tuesday to face Teutopolis.
