The St. Anthony baseball team is a perfect “10.”

The Bulldogs broke open a close game with a five-run fifth Wednesday afternoon, en route to an 11-4 win at Newton that kept their record unblemished after 10 games.

St. Anthony held a slim 4-3 lead as it came to bat in the top of the fifth. Eli Moore led off the inning with a base hit and came around to score on a double by Brody Niebrugge. After a Will Hoene single, Angelo Mendella delivered an RBI single, Eli Link had a sacrifice fly, another run scored after a bunt by Josh Blanchette and the final tally came across after a Newton error.

Colton Fearday added a two-run homer in the seventh to complete the scoring.

Moore put the Bulldogs on the scoreboard in the opening inning with a solo blast that cleared the centerfield fence. SAHS added two runs in the second and another in the third on a two-out RBI double by Mendella.

Logan Antrim pitched the first six innings to get the win. The Bulldogs left-hander allowed eight hits and four runs, while walking four and striking out eight. Eli Levitt pitched the seventh.

The Bulldogs, now 10-0, will return to action Saturday at home against Olney.
