St. Anthony not only hosted its own golf invitational Thursday, it also captured first place.
The Lady Bulldogs finished with a 154, which was two strokes better than Mt. Carmel’s 156. Alton Marquette was third at 163, followed by St. Thomas More 168, Effingham 171, Charleston 200 and Teutopolis 214.
Macy Ludwig shot 36 to lead the Lady Bulldogs and finished second overall individually. Mt. Carmel’s Madilyn Young was the medalist with a 35. Ellie Wegman finished with 37, Morgan Schuette 39 and Nina Hakman 42 to complete the team scoring. Also playing was Lauren Schwing (44), Cara Hakman (45), Jessica Coffin (46), Maddie Brummer (47), Reagan Westendorf (49) and Mady Stortzum (61).
Effingham’s Ava Boehm shot a 37 and tied for third overall. Kennedy Collier finished with 40, Morgan Krouse 45 and Anna Sigg 49 to complete the EHS team score. Anna Hirtzel (56) and Jaelyn Boone (57) also played.
For Teutopolis, Averie Bushue shot 40, Alaina Helmink 56, Maggie Koester 59 and Abigail Wortman 59 to account for the Lady Shoes team score. Mollie Koester (66) also played.
Effingham will play Saturday in the Centennial Invitational and St. Anthony will also be in action Saturday at the Aurora Rosary Invitational.
