Lucy Fearday is now over the flu and more rested.

And it showed Tuesday afternoon.

Fearday turned in a dominating pitching performance, helping the St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs open the postseason on a winning note, posting a 6-0 victory over Marshall in a semifinal game of the Class 2A St. Joseph Regional.

St. Anthony, the regional’s top seed, will now face Paris for the regional championship at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Lady Tigers, seeded No. 7, knocked off St. Joseph 5-2.

Fearday allowed just two hits over seven innings of work. She walked four and struck out nine.

Her teammates provided plenty of support and five Marshall errors also helped.

The Lady Bulldogs got on the board in the bottom of the first. Cameron Rios led off with a base hit, stole second and scored on an error.

SAHS added two runs in the third and three more in the fourth.

In the third, Hailey Niebrugge smacked a home run leading off. A walk and two errors accounted for the second tally. In the third, Maddie Kibler and Sydney Kibler both had RBI singles and the third run came home on another error.

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 24-4 on the season.
