No, this is not a typo.

The final score was really 32-1.

The St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs scored early and just kept adding on Friday afternoon in Altamont.

They had 23 hits, received 12 walks and took advantage of six Altamont errors and finished with an eye-popping type of victory.

Maddie Kibler had three hits and drove in five runs, while Sydney Kibler collected four hits and finished with three RBI. A total of 13 different St. Anthony hitters had at least one hit.

The onslaught started in the opening inning. Cameron Rios walked, stole second and scored on a double by Sydney Kibler. With two outs, Lucy Fearday ripped an RBI triple, followed by a walk to Maddie Kibler and a two-run single by Grace Karolewicz. The fifth run scored on an error.

But the Lady Bulldogs were just getting started.

They combined five hits and two walks to scored six times in the second and open an 11-0 lead.

St. Anthony then erupted in the next two innings. They sent 15 batters to the plate in the third and banged out seven hits, en route to a 10-run frame; and then paraded 17 batters to the plate in the fifth, had eight hits and pushed across 11 more runs.

Addie Wernsing pitched the first two innings to get the win and Sydney Kibler took care of the final two frames. The duo combined to allow three hits and one run, while walking four and striking out five.

The Lady Bulldogs, now 5-1, will play Monday at St. Elmo/Brownstown and then return home Tuesday to face Newton.
