Griffin Sehy connected on a three-pointer and Kyle Stewart added three free throws in overtime, helping St. Anthony notch its first win of the season Saturday, a 62-58 decision over Rantoul.
It was the opening game on the final day of the St. Anthony Thanksgiving Tournament and secured a seventh place finish for the Bulldogs.
The game was a see-saw affair. The Eagles broke out to a 12-4 lead after the opening eight minutes, but St. Anthony then went on a 16-6 run to take a 20-18 lead at intermission. Rantoul responded by going on 19-10 scoring spree in the third quarter to take a 37-30 edge into the final period.
Max Koenig then stepped up in a big way. The sophomore came off the bench to knock down three shots from behind the arc and scored 11 points to help the Bulldogs rally and tie the game, 53-53.
Koenig finished with a game-high 22 points, while Stewart added 15. Avontay Anderson and Marcus Lee paced Rantoul with 14 points apiece.
The Bulldogs finished the tournament with a 1-3 record. They will return to action Tuesday night at home against North Clay. It will be their National Trail Conference opener.
