Griffin Sehy, who had a breakout performance, scored two quick buckets off CHBC turnovers and Eli Levitt added another to get the lead back to eight. But, again, the Bulldogs followed that up with back-to-back miscues, including the loose ball that Waylon Robertson hustled to get and then turn into a score that got the Bobcats to within 25-21.

That’s when Rincker called the timeout and unloaded on his team.

It was still a four-point game, 30-26, when Sehy and Michael Martelli knocked down back-to-back threes that started a 14-3 run over the final 2½ minutes. Rudibaugh added a three-point play and Teddy Dietzen connected from long range right before the halftime buzzer, sending the Bulldogs to the locker room with a 44-29 cushion.

If the Bobcats entertained any hopes of a second-half comeback, St. Anthony took that away with an 11-3 spurt in the first four minutes of the third quarter. Croy had seven of those points and Kyle Stewart had the other four, as the Bulldogs extended the margin to 55-32. It was a 24-point spread, 69-45, heading into the final eight minutes.

“I was more pleased with how we played in the second half,” Rincker said. “But I’m still not pleased with that 55 number (CHBC’s point total) at all. We shot the ball well tonight, but we need better effort on the defensive end. Our pressure caused them some problems, but when we transitioned into our halfcourt defense, we lost intensity. We definitely still have some things to work on defensively.”

CHBC got 17 points from Silas Buzzard, with 15 of those coming in the second half. Jadon Robertson scored 11 and Kade Persinger added 10. The Bobcats shot 59 percent from the floor, connecting on 22-of-37 shots, but turned the ball over 28 times.

Sehy pumped in 27 points and Croy added 21 for the Bulldogs. In addition, Rudibaugh chipped in 16 to the offensive attack. SAHS made 33-of-61 shots, a 54 percent clip. They were 12-for-28 from three-point range and 9-for-15 from the foul line.

“Griffin really found his rhythm tonight,” Rincker said. “He hit his outside shots and also took the ball to the hoop. This should be a confidence builder for him. He needs to keep looking for his shot and build on this game.”

The Bulldogs are now 4-3 on the season and 2-0 in the NTC. They will play another conference game Friday at Brownstown/St. Elmo.
