For the second straight game, the St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs placed four players in double figures.
And for the second straight game, the Lady Bulldogs simply overpowered their opponent.
SAHS traveled to Sandoval Thursday night and came home with a convincing 76-33 victory.
Stacie Vonderheide scored eight of her game-high 22 points in the opening eight minutes, as the Lady Bulldogs built a quick double-digit lead, 17-6. By halftime, Vonderheide had 16 points and St. Anthony had a 39-27 edge.
The second half was totally one-sided. Anna Faber pumped in 10 points in the third period, helping the Lady Bulldogs go on a 20-4 scoring spree to open a 59-31 bulge. St. Anthony outscored Sandoval 37-6 over the final two quarters.
Vonderheide finished with 22 points, while Lucy Fearday scored 14, Faber added 12 and Nancy Ruholl chipped in 11.
The Lady Bulldogs, now 2-0, will play next week in the Robinson Thanksgiving Tournament. They will play two games on Friday, Nov. 25 – 10:30 a.m. against Mt. Carmel; and 3 p.m. against Marshall. SAHS will then play two games on Saturday, Nov. 26 – 10:30 a.m. against Fairfield; and 3 p.m. against Robinson.
