Brock Fearday and Colin Westendorf combined to scored 35 points Tuesday night, helping the St. Anthony Bulldogs beat Newton, 50-43, in a non-conference game played at the Enlow Center.
The host Bulldogs knocked down four three-pointers in the opening period. Brock Fearday had a pair, while Westendorf and Henry Brent also connected from behind the arc, as SAHS built a 16-9 lead after the first eight minutes.
The gap remained about the same throughout. St. Anthony led 25-18 at halftime and 37-29 heading into the fourth quarter.
Newton’s Parker Wolf hit two threes and scored 10 points in the final eight minutes, but The Bulldogs made 6-of-10 free throws to maintain the lead and secure the victory.
Parker finished with 18 points and teammate Dylan Gier added 13 for the Eagles, who dipped to 6-2 on the season.
Fearday also had 18 points and Westendorf scored 17 for the Bulldogs.
St. Anthony, now 7-2, will play a National Trail Conference game on the road Friday. The Bulldogs will travel to Dieterich. The Movin’ Maroons have won six straight and are 6-1 overall. Both teams are 3-0 in league play.
