Nancy Ruholl and Addie Lauritzen combined to score 41 points Saturday, leading the state’s top-ranked St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs to a lopsided 70-18 win at home over Flora.

Ruholl knocked down a pair of three-pointers and scored eight points, while Lauritzen added seven more, as the hosts raced to a 21-6 lead after the opening eight minutes. By halftime, the lead had expanded to 31 points, 42-11. It was 63-14 heading into the final period, so the continuously running clock was implemented.

Ruholl, just a junior, finished with 24 points. She has now scored 1,627 career points and is only seven points away from breaking Lucy Fearday’s record for most points scored by a girl during her career. Fearday finished with 1,634.

Ruholl is also just 46 points away from the school’s all-time scoring record. That belongs to Mike Wente, who amassed 1,663 total points.

It was the 10th straight victory for St. Anthony, which improved to 23-4 overall.

The Lady Bulldogs will finish the regular season with two home games – Monday against a tough Tuscola team; and Thursday against a talented Newton squad.
