Despite a terrific offensive performance by sophomore Riley Guy, the St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs went 1-2 in their final three games in the Lady Maroons Thanksgiving Tournament in Robinson.

Guy pumped in 34 points in a 56-52 setback to Martinsville and followed that with a 15-point game in a 74-38 loss to Olney. Both of those games were played Saturday.

Guy then netted 31 points in the Lady Shoes 71-67 double overtime win Saturday over Robinson.

Martinsville jumped out to a 15-3 lead after one quarter of play. The Lady Bulldogs were still down double digits, 41-31, heading into the fourth period. With Guy scoring 13 of her 34 points in the final eight minutes, St. Anthony closed the gap and lost by only four points.

Olney outscored the Lady Bulldogs 43-15 in the middle two quarters to pull away. In addition to Guy’s 15 points, Lucy Fearday scored nine. Kenzie Weiler and Anna Blank led the Lady Tigers, scoring 27 and 23 points respectively.

St. Anthony held a 44-33 lead after three quarters against Robinson, but led by Bailey Strauch’s 17 fourth-quarter points, the Lady Maroons battled back to tie the game, 54-54, at the end of regulation. After the first overtime, the score was 62-62. But in the second extra session, the Lady Bulldogs outscored the tournament hosts 9-5 to post the four-point win.

Guy scored nine of her game-high 31 points in the overtime periods. Fearday finished with 18 points.

The Lady Bulldogs finished 1-3 in the tournament and are now 3-3 overall. They will return to action tonight (Monday) at Okaw Valley.
