For a half, the St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs gave the undefeated Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City team all it could handle.
But then Jaelyn Robertson and the Lady Bobcats went to work. Robertson scored 18 of her 22 points in the second half, helping CHBC go on a 36-24 scoring surge and post a 62-47 decision at home.
With Riley Guy pouring in 16 of her game-high 29 points in the first half, the Lady Bulldogs kept the game close. They trailed 17-13 after eight minutes and by just three, 29-26, at halftime.
But Robertson pumped in 12 third-quarter points to help the Lady Bobcats expand the lead to 44-35.
St. Anthony’s Lucy Fearday scored 10 points in the second half and finished with 13. CHBC placed four girls in double figures. Carsen Burks had 13, while Gracie Heckert and Madison Cherry both scored 10.
The Lady Bobcats improved to 10-0 on the season.
The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 5-5. They will return to action Thursday at Newton and then return home for a game against Arthur next Saturday.
