St. Anthony continues to get impressive play from Lucy Fearday.

The freshman completed a strong five-game stretch by scoring 22 points and leading the Lady Bulldogs to a 48-39 victory Saturday over Vandalia in their final game of the Mattoon Girls Holiday Tournament.

Fearday scored 15 of her points in the second half, which helped the Lady Bulldogs rally from a 21-16 halftime deficit. St. Anthony outscored the Lady Vandals 32-18 to post the win.

Reese Jones, who has returned from an injury, scored seven of her nine points in the second half, while Riley Guy finished with seven.

Fearday scored in double figures in all five games of the tournament and averaged 17 points and 8 rebounds per game.

“Lucy was recognized for her outstanding play on the floor and her positivity and team leadership while she was in the game or cheering for her team from the bench,” St. Anthony coach Aaron Rios said. “We are proud of our very young team and how they competed throughout the tournament.”

The Lady Bulldogs are now 7-10 on the season. They will return to action Monday, Jan. 6, with a home game against Casey-Westfield.
