St. Elmo/Brownstown went on a fourth quarter scoring surge to pull away from the St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs and post a 67-56 victory in the regular season finale.

The Lady Eagles held a slim 42-41 lead after three quarters, but then outscored the Lady Bulldogs 25-15 in the final eight minutes to secure the win.

SEB built a 10-point margin at halftime, 34-24. But St. Anthony came out strong in the third period. Riley Guy scored 10 points and Reese Jones had seven more, as the Lady Bulldogs went on a 17-8 run to narrow the gap to just one point entering the final eight minutes.

Riley finished with a game-high 23 points and Jones added 13. Claire Wilhour led SEB with 17 points.

The Lady Bulldogs closed out their regular season with an 11-15 record. St Anthony will now host a Class 1A Regional next week. The Lady Bulldogs will play either Dieterich or Ramsey in a semifinal contest at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The regional championship will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14.

In the junior varsity game, St. Anthony posted a 40-29 victory. Anna Faber scored 12 points and Rillie Willenborg added 10.
