St. Anthony’s doubles team of Allison Kowalke/Aaveree Greene placed third in No. 1 doubles. The duo opened with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Sara Conley-Jillian Jackson (Lincoln-Way East) and then beat Alyssa Batcheler/Mia Lapiere (Chicago Latin) 6-4, 6-0.

After dropping their semifinal match against O’Fallon, Kowalke/Greene clinched third place with a 3-6, 6-0, 10-8 win over the Teutopolis doubles team of Ali Brumleve/Macy Probst.

T-Town’s Diana Mossman and the Brumleve/Probst doubles team placed fourth in their respective divisions.

Mossman won her first two matches – 6-0, 4-6, 10-8 over Sydnee O’Donnell (Peoria Notre Dame); and 0-6, 6-1, 11-9 over Taylor Disharoon (Dunlap). After falling to her sister in the semis, Mossman dropped a 1-6, 1-6 decision to Emily Orlove (Wheaton Warrenville South).

Brumleve/Probst also won their first two matches. They beat Aviv Sagiv/Sarah Park (Centennial) 6-0, 6-1; and JoJo Skaer/Abigail McIsaac (Belleville East) 7-5, 1-6, 10-7. In the semis, Brumleve/Probst lost 3-6, 1-6 to Kaitlyn Fiedler/Taylor Fiedler (Belleville West), before falling to the St. Anthony duo in the third place match.

St. Anthony’s Catherine Willenborg and T-Town’s Carley Habing both competed in No. 2 singles.

Willenborg went 1-2. She beat Rachel Sitasz (Hinsdale South) 6-0, 6-2 and then dropped at 2-6, 0-6 decision to Alyssa Riley (Belleville West) and lost 4-6, 6-4, 5-10 to Mia Galassini (Lincoln-Way East).

Habing also finished 1-2. She was defeated 6-7, 2-6 by Alexis Jones (Central) in the opener, but bounced back to beat Maya Hataway (Belleville East) 6-7, 6-3, 11-9. In her final match, Habing lost to Sruthi Sundar (Conant) 3-6, 2-6.

Both schools also had participants in No. 2 doubles.

For Teutopolis, the duo of Isabelle Hemmen/Grace Hoene went 1-2. They dropped the opener, 2-6, 6-7, to Ali Mueller/Megan Mueller (O’Fallon). They then defeated the St. Anthony team of Caroline Deters/Caroline McDevitt, 6-2, 6-3, before falling to Maddie Harper/Ellie Marion (Lincoln-Way East), 6-7, 1-6,

Deters/McDevitt went 0-2. They dropped their first match, 2-6, 0-6, to Alice Minas/Talia Truska (Chicago Latin).

The Lady Bulldogs will host their own invitational Saturday. The field will also include Effingham and Teutopolis.

Teutopolis is scheduled to face Charleston at home today (Monday).
