Allison Kowalke was runner-up in No. 2 singles. She defeated Belle Gerber (John Hersey), 6-0, 6-0; Agnes Cross (Sacred Heart Griffin), 6-1, 6-0; and Emily Kettering (Normal), 6-4, 6-1. She was then beaten by Margaret Forkner (Libertyville), 0-6, 0-6, in the finals.

Deters was also second in No. 5 singles play. She opened with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Olivia Bell (Bloomington) and followed that with a 2-6, 7-6, 10-5 decision over Lauren Klein (LaSalle-Peru). In the championship match, Libertyville’s Kiley Nolan prevailed 7-6, 6-4.

In No. 3 singles, Averee Greene went 3-1 and finished third. She beat Divya Bhookya (Normal), 6-0, 6-0; and Ava Towne (Danville), 6-0, 6-1. In the semifinals, Greene was defeated 2-6, 1-6 by Lauren Berns (Libertyville), but bounced back to get third place with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Arya Ghandi (Normal).

Catherine Willenborg was fourth in No. 4 singles. She finished 3-1 and tied for fifth. Her lone loss was to Maya Nash (Homewood-Flossmoor) in the quarterfinals by scores of 2-6, 4-6. She also beat Gianna Phipps (Normal), 6-2, 6-0; Lydia Cassidy (Normal), 6-1, 6-0; and Lily Kanski (Bloomington), 6-2, 6-0.

Caroline McDevitt was unable to play in No. 6 singles due to an injury.                      

In No. 1 doubles, Kowalke/Greene went 2-2 and finished fourth. They defeated Cross/Reimers (Sacred Heart Griffin), 6-2, 6-3; and Smarzysnki/Hall (John Hersey), 5-7, 6-1, 10-5. They were beaten by Totten/Fernandes (University High), 3-6, 2-6; and by Kettering/Gentry (Normal), 4-6, 4-6.

Willenborg/McDevitt finished 1-2 and also in fourth place. They opened with a 6-2, 6-7, 10-0 win over Wochnik/Jresiat (John Hersy); and were then defeated 3-6, 7-5, 5-10 by Oya/Ernat (LaSalle-Peru) and then by default (due to McDevitt’s injury) to Martin/Kraft (University High).

The Lady Bulldogs will host Teutopolis Tuesday.
