Evan Addis and Justin Hardiek proved to be a strong combination Friday afternoon.
Addis fired a three-hitter and Hardiek banged out three hits and drove in four runs, leading the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes to a 7-0 shutout at home over Neoga.
Addis pounded the strike zone throughout. It took the righthander just 80 pitches to go a full seven innings. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out eight to improve to 2-0 on the season.
At the plate, Hardiek had a pair of doubles in his three hits. The first drove in a second-inning run and extended T-Town’s lead to 3-0. He capped the day with a bases-clearing two-bagger in the sixth that accounted for the final three runs and broke the game open.
The Shoes ended up with 10 hits. Evan Wermert also had three hits and an RBI.
Teutopolis improved to 8-2 on the season. The Shoes were scheduled to play at North Clay Saturday.
