It took the Teutopolis boys a little bit to get warmed up.

But once they did, it was all over.

The Wooden Shoes outscored Shelbyville 44-20 in the second half Wednesday night, en route to a 68-35 victory in a semifinal game of the Class 2A Teutopolis Regional.

The Shoes will now face Robinson for the regional championship. The Maroons advanced with a win over Flora. The regional final is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday. T-Town will be looking for its 13th straight regional title.

The Shoes held a slim 8-6 lead after the first quarter, expanded it to 24-15 at halftime and then exploded in the second half. It was 42-23 heading into the final eight minutes and THS then outscored the Rams 26-12.

James Niebrugge scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Shoes, while Brendan Niebrugge added 14. Caleb Siemer narrowly missed a double-double effort. He scored 9 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.

THS improved to 24-7 on the season.
