Chloe Probst scored what proved to be the winning basket with less than 20 seconds to play and the Teutopolis defense then got two stops to help the Lady Shoes post an impressive 37-33 victory on the road against previously undefeated Paris.
The host Lady Tigers, now 11-1 on the season, held a slim 33-32 lead when Chloe Probst drove to the basket and scored to put T-Town on top. Anna Probst hit a free throw and Kelsey Niemerg added another bucket in the waning seconds to secure the seventh straight win for the Teutopolis girls.
It was a close, back-and-forth game throughout. The Lady Shoes owned a 10-7 lead after the opening eight minutes, but Paris came back to take a slim 22-21 advantage into the locker room at halftime. The game was tied, 28-28, heading into the fourth quarter.
Chloe Probst led the Lady Shoes with 16 points and Niemerg added 10.
The Lady Shoes are now 8-3. They will next play on Thursday, Dec. 28, in the Coles County Girls Holiday Tournament. They will face Marion at 11:30 a.m. and Galesburg at 3 p.m. Both games will be at Mattoon High School.
