The Lady Shoes then outscored Champaign Central 23-8 in the third period to balloon the lead to 55-22.

Chloe Probst finished with 22 points and Mollie Ruholl added 12.

The win against Marion didn’t come as easily.

It was a 15-15 tie after the opening eight minutes. The Lady Shoes then built a 27-22 advantage at intermission and maintained that same five-point cushion, 39-34, entering the final period.

Marion’s Jakiya Peterson connected on a pair of threes and scored eight points and teammate Carleigh Midgett added six more as the Lady Wildcats trimmed the THS lead. But the Lady Shoes scored just enough to escape with the one-point victory.

Chloe Probst pumped in a game-high 20 points, while Anna Probst added 13, including five big points in the fourth period.

The Lady Shoes improved to 12-2 on the season and will be looking for revenge Saturday against St. Anthony.

Those two teams squared off on December 16 and the Lady Bulldogs came away with an impressive 62-49 victory. It was the first time a St. Anthony girls basketball team had ever beaten Teutopolis.
