St. Joe-Ogden controlled the first half, building a double-digit lead, en route to a 55-40 victory at home Tuesday night over Teutopolis.

The Spartans jumped out to a 21-12 lead after the opening eight minutes and then expanded the margin to 17 points, taking a 37-20 advantage to the locker room at halftime.

Tanner Siems scored a game-high 21 points for the Spartans, who improved to 10-5 on the season.

Gavin Addis was the only Wooden Shoe to reach double figures, finishing with 11 points. Alex Kremer added nine.

The Shoes dropped to 11-5. They will face another tough test Friday when they travel to Tuscola.
