The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes dropped a close game Friday night, falling 44-42 at Breese Mater Dei.
As expected, the game was close throughout. It was tied, 11-11, after the first eight minutes and the Shoes held a 22-19 lead at intermission.
The host Knights came back to take a one-point lead, 31-30, into the fourth quarter.
Luke Brefeld and Gavin Peppenhorst led Mater Dei in scoring with 14 and 12 points respectively. The Knights improved to 17-8.
Alex Kremer paced T-Town with 14 points, while Mick Niebrugge also scored in double figures, finishing with 12.
The Shoes are now 15-8 for the season. They will return to action Tuesday, playing at home against Newton.
