The Lady Cyclones held a slim 23-21 advantage at halftime, but then used a 16-11 scoring edge to build the seven-point margin heading into the final eight minutes. Niemerg scored six points and Niebrugge added five more in the pivotal fourth period, plus Ciara Roepke knocked down a 3-pointer.

Sophie Lowis scored 20 points to lead SHG, which dipped to 10-5 on the season. The Lady Cyclones will play Effingham at 1 p.m. Monday in the third place game.

Niemerg also pumped in 20 points, while Niebrugge added 13 for THS. Karsyn Mette pulled down 10 rebounds in the game, while Niemerg had eight.

The Lady Shoes will take an 11-2 record into the championship game against Paris. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m.

Earlier Saturday, THS had no trouble disposing of Charleston. Roepke and Niemerg both scored seven points and the Lady Shoes raced to a 22-0 lead after eight minutes and coasted to a 64-13 decision.

It was 35-2 at halftime and 54-9 after three quarters.

Niemerg finished with 18 points, while Niebrugge added 12 and both Roepke and Izzy Hardiek scored 9. Niebrugge also had six steals and seven rebounds, while Niemerg dished out six assists.
