Another game.

Another tough opponent for the Teutopolis Lady Shoes.

Just like Coach Laurie Thompson likes it, as her team prepares for the postseason, which begins next week.

T-Town traveled to Breese Monday night and dropped a 51-44 decision to a talented Lady Knights team.

Mater Dei made 13-of-21 free throws in the fourth quarter to help maintain its lead down the stretch and improve to 18-8 on the season.

The Lady Shoes trailed 12-10 after eight minutes, 22-21 at intermission and 36-28 after three quarters. Mater Dei scored just one basket in the final period, but made enough foul shots to secure the win. Shannon Lampe, alone, made 9-of-12 for the Lady Knights.

Claire Tonnies led Breese with 18 points, while Lampe scored 15 and Madi Strieker added 10.

Lexie Niebrugge had 13 points for Teutopolis and Olivia Niemerg scored 12. Karsyn Mette led the team with six rebounds.

The Lady Shoes, now 20-8, will close its regular season with a game Friday against Bloomington Central Catholic. It will be played at Parkland College in Champaign.
