Teutopolis bounced back from a tough defeat Friday in a big way.
Less than 18 hours after dropping a six-point decision at Lincoln, the Wooden Shoes returned home Saturday to post a convincing 76-31 victory over Lawrenceville.
T-Town was in control from the outset. The Shoes built a 22-13 lead after the first eight minutes and then outscored the Indians 39-14 over the next two quarters to take a comfortable 61-27 lead into the final quarter.
Evan Wermert poured in a game-high 21 points to lead the Shoes, while Matthew Deters added 13. Max Niebrugge pulled down five rebounds to help THS to a 33-14 rebounding advantage.
The Shoes, now 2-1 overall, will return to Apollo Conference action next week. They will play Tuesday night at Effingham; Friday at home against Charleston; and then travel to Mahomet-Seymour Saturday. T-Town enters the week with a 1-1 conference record.
