Teutopolis boys win triangular
Andy Niebrugge claimed medalist honors with a nine-hole round of 39 Thursday afternoon, helping the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes post a triangular victory at Effingham Country Club.
The Shoes finished with a team total of 178, followed by Shelbyville at 195 and Windsor 322.
Hayden Jansen shot 44, Ethan Thoele 46 and Bennett Thompson 49 to round out the team score for THS. Gabe Schlinki (52) and Zac Niebrugge (55) also played.
Bulldogs win close quadrangular
The St. Anthony boys golf team placed first in a very close quadrangular match Thursday afternoon at Glen Oak Golf Course.
The Bulldogs finished with 168 strokes, just one ahead of Oblong’s 169. Marshall was third at 172 and Robinson fourth at 177.
Thomas Chojnicki had the low round for SAHS, shooting a 40. Charlie Wegman had a 42, and Jonathan Willenborg and Michael Martelli both finished at 43 to complete the team scoring. Lane Ludwig (46) and Aidan Tegeler (46) also competed.
Hearts beat Casey-Westfield
The Effingham boys traveled to Casey Thursday and came home with a victory.
The Hearts finished with 169 total strokes, well ahead of Casey-Westfield’s 199.
For EHS, Ryker Schneider had the low round with a 43. Preston Latch shot 44 and both Max Woelfer and David Splechter finished with 45. Also playing for the Hearts was Nick Burgess (46), Colby Haynes (49), Jack Blickem (49), Ethan Ritz (51), Aiden Lockhart (61), Aiden Hanks (63) and Ben Thompson (64).
Lady Bulldogs win triangular on Senior Night
The St. Anthony girls golf team celebrated Senior Night in winning fashion Thursday, posting a win in a triangular match.
The Lady Bulldogs finished with 151 total strokes, followed by Effingham with 189 and Mattoon with 196.
Macy Ludwig and Ellie Wegman led the way for SAHS, both shooting a 1-under par 35. Morgan Schuette finished with a 39 and Nina Hakman and Reagan Westendorf both shot 42. Cara Hakman also played and finished with a 45.
For the Lady Hearts, Ava Boehm finished with a 1-over par 37. Anna Sigg shot 44, Marah Kirk 52 and Annie Frost 56 to complete the team scoring. Anna Hirtzel (60) and Ella Niebrugge (67) also competed.

St. Anthony blanks Mt. Zion
The Lady Bulldogs swept through Mt. Zion Thursday, winning every match en route to a 9-0 victory.

Effingham played Olney Thursday afternoon and dropped an 8-1 decision.
