“The end always seems to come quickly. I know the girls weren’t ready for it to end,” Mills said. “And they left everything on the court. The best way I can describe the match is after it ended, a parent from Vandalia told me ‘we came to watch our girls play, but your match was worth the price of admission.’”
Mills and the team were also appreciative of the support they received.
“The student body filled our end of the gym and they made the atmosphere electric,” he noted. “Thanks to all the students and adults that came out and supported us. The girls really fed off that energy.”
Paris will face Pana for the regional championship at 6 p.m. Thursday. The winner will then advance to the Salem Sectional.
