The game was a close one throughout. The Hearts led 16-15 after the opening eight minutes, 32-29 at halftime and 46-42 after three quarters.
Oakley finished with a game-high 28 points for the Trojans.
The Hearts featured a balanced scoring attack. Nolan Fearday and Jake Niebrugge reached double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively, while Traub finished with nine, Hayden Wendling, Cole Phillips and Jones each scored eight and Kellams added seven.
The Hearts shot well, connecting on 18-of-32 overall attempts, a 56 percent clip. They were 4-for-9 from behind the arc and 23-of-32 from the foul line. They also held a 23-18 rebounding advantage.
Effingham improved to 5-11 for the season.

Oregon 57; Belvidere 47
The Oregon Hawks went on a 22-8 fourth quarter run to erase a deficit and post a 57-47 decision over Belvidere to finish 15th in the tournament.
The Bucs held a 39-35 lead entering the final period.
Oregon, making its first appearance in the tourney, had four players reach double figures. Benito Olalde led the way with 16 points, while Keaton Salsbury scored 13 and both Cooper Johnson and Jackson Caposey added 11.
Lawrenceville 51; Newton 31
The Lawrenceville Indians built an early lead and were never threatened, finishing with a 51-31 win over the Newton Eagles.
The Indians finished in 13th place.
Lawrenceville led 14-6 after the first eight minutes, stretched that to 27-14 at halftime and continued to expand the gap in the second half.
Noah Wilson scored 18 points for the Indians and Kody Bergbower led Newton with 16.
Chicago Brooks 47; Mattoon 43
Chicago Brooks posted a 47-43 victory over Mattoon in a game that was close from start to finish.
The Green Wave led 14-11 after the first eight minutes, but Chicago Brooks came back to take a 29-22 lead at intermission. Mattoon then outscored the Eagles 18-11 in the third period to tie it up, 35-35.
Malik Arogundade and Bryce Hayes led Brooks with 10 points each, while Madden Johnson and Cole Larson scored 12 and 11 points respectively for Mattoon.
The Eagles finished in 7th place.
