The Effingham cross country teams traveled to Centralia Saturday to compete in an invitational.
The Lady Hearts finished fourth out of seven teams and the EHS boys were ninth overall. Both races covered three miles at Foundation Park in Centralia.
Carbondale won the girls race with 36 teams points. Effingham had 92. In the boys race, Centralia was the winner with 40 points, while the Hearts had 233.
For the Lady Hearts, Marah Kirk was 11th in 20:13.2; Kiley Weaver 14th in 20:32.0; Nicole Schniederjon 23rd in 21:19.5; Hope Monnet 26th in 22:33.3; and Daelyn Dunston 29th in 22:47.3.
For the EHS boys, Clayton Cramsey was 40th in 18:12.9; Zeel Patel 43rd in 18:23.6; Preston Latch 52nd in 19:08.3; Dane Seiler 56th in 19:37.0; and Frank Rosen 57th in 19:47.5.
Effingham will compete in the Apollo Conference meet Tuesday in Mahomet.
