Karley Moore allowed just three hits and struck out 11, helping the Paris Lady Tigers post a 7-2 victory at home over Effingham Monday afternoon.
Moore retired the first 12 Effingham batters. She had a one-hit shutout going until the seventh when Riley Cunningham singled and Grace Bushur blasted a two-run homer to get the Lady Hearts on the scoreboard.
Paris took control with a five-run second. The Lady Tigers combined five walks and three hits, including a two-run double by Jayden Bishop. The hosts added two more tallies in the sixth.
Riley Cunningham pitched the first 1.1 innings and took the loss. Sawyer Althoff relieved in the second and pitched the rest of the way.
The Lady Hearts, now 0-2, will play Thursday at home against Marshall.
