The Effingham Lady Hearts competed in the Mattoon Invitational Tennis Tournament.
Robinson was the champion of the event, which was played both Friday and Saturday.
Here are the EHS results:
No. 1 singles: Chloe Aden finished 1-2. She defeated Alexis Mallory (Mt. Zion), 6-3, 6-1; lost to Sarah Staller (Robinson), 0-6, 0-6; and lost to Ashely Mills (St. Thomas More), 4-8.
No. 2 singles: Jackeline Garcia was 0-2. She lost to Meleah Hackett (Charleston), 0-6, 1-6; and to Nora Kelley (St. Thomas More), 2-8.
No. 3 singles: Lauren Pierson finished 1-1. She beat Gracie Helms (Mattoon), 7-6, 7-6; and lost to Lisa Henry (Robinson), 0-6, 1-6.
No. 1 doubles: Riley Arend/Riley Seachrist went 0-2. They lost to Emily Sherwood/Emma Mason (Casey-Westfield), 7-5, 6-7, 13-15; and then retired due to injury in their second match.
No. 2 doubles: Lydia Kull/Eden Wendling finished 3-1. They lost to Audrey Horn/Beccac Hege (St. Thomas More), 6-1, 4-6, 8-10; beat Hannah Larson/Maggie Goetten (Charleston), 8-6; defeated Kambelle Ashmore/Destance Garza (Mattoon), 8-4; and beat Amilynn Zellers/Carly Zachary (Casey-Westfield), 8-3.
The Lady Hearts will be at home today (Monday) against Newton.
