No. 1 singles: Caroline Kull went 1-2 and finished fourth. She defeated Michelle Roberts (Mt. Zion) 7-5, 4-6, 10-4; and then lost to Emily Stortzum (Mattoon), 4-6, 1-6; and to Annie Bao (Mahomet-Seymour), 3-6, 6-7.
No 2 singles: Riley Arend went 1-1 and was second. After receiving a first-round bye, Arend beat Mrinali Kesavadas (Mahomet-Seymour), 6-3, 6-2; and was then defeated in the championship by Mattoon’s Tess Huene, 6-2, 6-2.
No. 3 singles: Lydia Kull finished 1-1 and runner-up. She received a first-round bye and then beat Abby Geisler (Charleston), 7-5, 6-3. In the finals, she dropped a 4-6, 1-6 decision to Hallie Niemerg (Mattoon).
No. 4 singles: top-seeded Riley Seachrist was 1-1 and in second place. After a first-round bye, she beat Britta Slupski (Mahomet-Seymour), 6-4, 6-7, 10-6; and then lost to Mattoon’s Caroline Davis, 4-6, 3-6 in the finals.
No. 5 singles: Eden Wendling also went 1-1 and finished in second place. She, too, had a first-round bye and then beat Charleston’s Maggie Goetten 6-3, 6-1. In the finals, Wendling lost to Mattoon’s Kambelle Ashmore. The scores were 4-6, 5-7.
No. 6 singles: Chloe Aden went 1-1 and in the fifth place. She opened with a 3-6, 3-6 loss to Mannika Kohli (Mahomet-Seymour); and then defeated Krystina Slack (Lincoln), 6-0, 6-4.
No. 1 doubles: C. Kull/Arend was 1-1 and finished second. After a first-round bye, they beat Roberts/Fromelt (Mt. Zion), 6-4, 4-6, 6-3; and then fell to Mattoon’s Stortzum/Huene, 3-6, 2-6.
No. 2 doubles: L. Kull/Seachrist went 2-1 to get second place. They beat Fried/Slupski (Mahomet-Seymour), 6-3, 6-3; and Baker/Lauper-Cook (Mt. Zion), 6-2, 6-3, to reach the finals. They were then defeated 0-1, 1-6 by Niemerg/Davis (Mattoon).
No. 3 doubles: Gracie Kroenlein/Aila Woomer was 1-1 and finished second. They received a first-round bye and then beat Au. Bradford/Al. Bradford (Mt. Zion), 6-4, 6-2. In the finals, they were defeated 5-7, 6-4, 5-7 by Ashmore/Gaza (Mattoon).
Caroline Kull, Arend and Seachrist were each named to the all-conference team.
The Lady Hearts will play Tuesday at home against Greenville.
