What a game for Kaden Fearday.
He belted two home runs and drove in six to lead the St. Anthony Bulldogs to their sixth win in seven games, a 7-4 verdict at Neoga.
Fearday blasted a two-run homer in the fifth and then added a three-run shot in the sixth to help the Bulldogs pull away. He added an RBI single in the seventh to complete the scoring.
Angelo Mendella, who also went deep in the seventh, got things started offensively in the third with a base hit. Jack Hoene then singled and Kaden Fearday walked to load the bases. An error let in the first run and Gavin Braunecker drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 2-0.
Fearday’s round-tripper made it 4-0 in the fifth and his three-run blast, along with Aaron Webb’s RBI double, increased the SAHS lead to 8-2.
Webb was also the winning pitcher. He tossed the first four innings, giving up six hits and two runs, while walking three and fanning six. Colton Fearday pitched the final three innings to earn the save. He didn’t allow a baserunner and struck out four.
The Bulldogs, now 7-4, have been hot offensively. In each of their last six wins, they have scored 10 or more runs.
St. Anthony will return to play today (Friday) at Dieterich.
