Colton Fearday pitched six strong innings and Will Hoene had three hits and drove in two runs, helping the St. Anthony Bulldogs post a 6-2 win at home Monday afternoon over Mahomet-Seymour.
Fearday allowed just five hits in his 110-pitch outing. The only runs he gave up came on a two-run homer by Mahomet-Seymour’s Carter Selk in the fourth inning that tied the game at 2-2. Fearday walked two and struck out seven. Eli Levitt pitched the seventh and recorded three strikeouts.
The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead in the opening inning. Levitt led off with a double, went to second on a ground out and scored on Fearday’s sacrifice fly. Then with two outs, Brody Niebrugge singled, Angelo Mendella walked and Hoene delivered an RBI single.
SAHS then put together another two-out rally in the fifth. Niebrugge walked, went to second on a passed ball and scored on an error. Hoene then came through with a run-scoring double, followed by RBI singles from Eli Link and Connor Roepke.
The Bulldogs collected 10 hits in the game.
