The St. Anthony Bulldogs had their hitting shoes on Saturday.

They reached double figures in hits and runs in both games and came away with a pair of wins in the Tuscola Invitational and extend their winning streak to seven.

The Bulldogs beat the Eastland Cougars 11-1 in their first game and came back with an 18-5 rout over Tuscola in their second game.

Will Hoene blasted a home run and drove in four runs and Brady Hatton belted a solo home run against Eastland.

The Bulldogs jumped on top with a three-run first. Hoene had a sacrifice fly and Connor Roepke added a two-run single in a three-run third and SAHS wrapped it up with a five-run fourth. Hatton homered to start the fourth and Hoene capped the inning with a three-run blast.

Hatton was also the winning pitcher, allowing five hits and a single run in five innings of work. He walked two and struck out 11.

The game against Tuscola was even more lopsided. The Bulldogs took control with a five-run second, followed by a trio of three-run frames in the third, fourth and fifth, and then completed the scoring with a four-run sixth.

Brock Jansen, Brock Fearday and Colton Fearday combined for eight hits and 10 RBI in the game.

Colton Fearday had a two-run single in the second and another RBI hit in the third. Brock Fearday got his three runs batted in with a home run in the fifth and Jansen had a two-run double in the fourth and a two-run single in the sixth.

Brock Fearday was the winning pitcher. He worked five innings, giving up five hits and five runs, while walking three and striking out seven.

The Bulldogs, who improved to 8-2, is scheduled to be back in action today (Monday) at home against Teutopolis.
