The St. Anthony Bulldogs rallied for six runs in the seventh inning Thursday to come from behind and post a 12-8 victory at Mt. Zion.

The host Braves had come from behind earlier in the game. They trailed 6-2 at one time, but scored two runs in the fourth, three more in the fifth and added a single tally in the sixth to take an 8-6 advantage into the final inning.

But Eli Link led off the seventh with a base hit and Connor Roepke was hit by a pitch to get the comeback started. Both runners moved up a base on a ground out and Eli Levitt followed with his third hit of the game, a game-tying, two-run single.

But the Bulldogs were just getting started. Beau Adams then walked and Colton Fearday put SAHS on top with an RBI single. Brock Fearday, Angelo Mendella and Link added run-scoring singles to complete the six-run uprising.

Brock Fearday then set Mt. Zion down in order in the bottom of the seventh, recording two strikeouts, to nail down the victory. Fearday, the third pitcher of the game for the Bulldogs, also got the final two outs in the sixth and got credit for the win. Levitt was the starter and went the first four innings and Brady Hatton went 1.1 innings.

The Bulldogs scored single tallies in each of the first three innings and then tacked on three more runs in the fourth to build the 6-2 lead. Levitt and Mendella both collected three hits and drove in three runs for St. Anthony.

The Bulldogs, who improved to 6-2, will host a triple-header on Saturday. Tuscola will play Lanark-Eastland at noon; St. Anthony will face Lanark-Eastland at 2:30; and the Bulldogs will then play Tuscola at 5 p.m.
