Gavin Braunecker allowed just four hits and retired 13 straight batters during one stretch, helping the St. Anthony Bulldogs post a 10-1 win Friday at home over Altamont.

Braunecker allowed three of the hits and the only run in the opening inning. He didn’t allow another baserunner until a lead-off single in the sixth. He struck out six in his 91-pitch performance.

It was a 1-1 pitcher’s duel until the Bulldogs erupted for four runs in the fifth and added five more tallies in the sixth to break the game open.

Seven Altamont errors accounted for eight unearned runs.

In the fifth, Kennan Walsh led off with a base hit and scored on an error, the first of three in that inning. Kaden Fearday and Davis Tingley had back-to-back RBI doubles and the fourth tally scored on an error.

In the sixth, Eli Moore and Angelo Mendella had run-scoring singles, Jack Hoene and Kaden Fearday both drove in runs with ground outs and the final tally scored on a wild pitch.

The Bulldogs improved to 4-3 on the fall season. They will face the Indians again today, this time at Altamont.
