Dillan Elam went 3-for-3 and drove in five runs Wednesday, helping the Altamont Indians post an 8-4 win at home over St. Anthony.
Elam’s key hit was a bases-loaded triple as part of the Indians five-run third that broke up a 1-1 tie. He also had an RBI single in the first and a run-scoring double that finished the scoring in the bottom of the fifth.
St. Anthony got an RBI double from Joey Trupiano in the second that knotted the game at 1-1. After falling behind 6-1, the Bulldogs scored three times in the fourth to close the gap.
Nick Ruholl was hit by a pitch to start the inning. With two outs, Teddy Dietzen walked and Trupiano drove in his second run of the game with a base hit. Colin Westendorf walked to load the bases and Dawson Lohman delivered a base hit, driving home two more.
Altamont then added single tallies in the fourth and fifth.
Sammy Link, the second of four St. Anthony pitchers, took the loss. Kaden Davis got the win for Altamont.
The Bulldogs dipped to 9-4 on the season. They will play Friday at South Central and Saturday at Putnam County.
