The St. Anthony Bulldogs continued their offensive onslaught Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs banged out 10 hits and reached double figures in runs once again as they posted a 14-4, five-inning victory at home over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.

The win was St. Anthony’s seventh in the past eight games. And during that eight-game stretch, the Bulldogs have averaged nearly 11 runs per game, scoring 86 times and surpassing the 10-run mark five times.

The hosts wasted no time taking control against CHBC. The Bulldogs scored five runs in the opening inning and then exploded for eight more in the second to build an early 13-0 lead.

In the first, Nick Ruholl got the first of his four hits with a one-out single. He stole second and third base and then scored when Max Koenig delivered a two-out base hit. Later in the inning, Colin Westendorf had a two-run single, Dawson Lohman added an RBI base hit and the fifth run scored on a passed ball.

In the second, the Bulldogs combined five hits, three walks and a hit batter to tally eight times. Sammy Link and Lohman both had two-run triples in the inning.

Koenig, the first of three pitchers, went two innings to get the win. He allowed one hit and one run, while striking out five and walking three. Joseph Tegeler and Ruholl also pitched.

The Bulldogs improved to 14-5. They will return to action Thursday with a home game against Webber Township.
