Nokomis matched St. Anthony run-for-run for the first two innings.

After that, it was all Lady Bulldogs, as they outscored the Lady Redskins 13-1 in the final three innings to come away with a 19-7 win on the road.

The first three hitters in the lineup – Cameron Rios, Addie Wernsing and Hailey Niebrugge – combined for 10 hits and 10 RBI to lead the 19-hit, 19-run attack.

Both teams scored one run in the first and five more in the second.

Niebrugge had an RBI single for SAHS in the opening inning. In the second. Sydney Kibler singled, stole second and scored on a base hit by Abbi Hatton. Grace Karolewicz followed with a double, Rios had a run-scoring single, Wernsing drove in two with a triple and the fifth scored on an error.

St. Anthony broke the game open by scoring one tally in the fourth and closing the game out with back-to-back six-run innings in the fifth and sixth.

Wernsing, who finished with five RBI, drove in a run in each of those innings with two base hits and a fielder’s choice. Niebrugge had a two-run single in the fifth.

Wernsing came on in relief in the second inning and got the win. She pitched the final 4.1 innings. She allowed just two hits and one run. She didn’t walk a batter and struck out five. Sydney Kibler was the starter.

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 14-3 on the season. They will return to action Monday at Dieterich.
