Maddie Kibler already had three hits, including a home run.

But some players save their best for last.

Kibler delivered a three-run blast in the bottom of the seventh inning Wednesday to lift the St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs to a 9-6 win at home over Salem.

The game was tied, 6-6, when SAHS came to bat. Hailey Niebrugge and Abbi Hatton both walked to start things off. One out later, Kibler connected on a 3-1 pitch and sent it sailing over the centerfield fence for the walk-off victory.

She finished the game going 4-for-4 and driving in five runs.

The Lady Bulldogs trailed 5-2 in the sixth before rallying to score four runs. Hatton singled, Sydney Kibler walked and Maddie Kibler and Stacie Vonderheide followed with a pair of RBI singles. A Salem error then allowed two more runs to score to put St. Anthony on top, 6-5.

The Lady Wildcats got a home run from Lilly Blagoue, her second of the game, to tie the score in the top of the seventh, setting up the game-winning heroics for Maddie Kibler.

Addie Wernsing pitched the final three innings to get the win. She allowed three hits and two runs, while walking one and striking out three. Sydney Kibler went the first four innings.

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 15-2 on the season. They will play at home again today (Thursday) against Windsor/Stew-Stras.
