Addie Wernsing used her arm and her bat to help the St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs post an 8-2 win at home Thursday over Windsor/Stew-Stras.

Wernsing threw five shutout innings. She allowed just two hits, while not walking a batter and striking out four. Sydney Kibler pitched the final two innings.

Wernsing also contributed at the plate. In the first inning, after Addyson Rios had a lead-off single, Wernsing connected on the first pitch she saw and drove it over the leftfield fence for a two-run homer.

But the Lady Bulldogs weren’t finished, scoring three more runs in the frame. With one out, Abbi Hatton singled and Sydney Kibler walked. Maddie Kibler then delivered an RBI double and Stacie Vonderheide capped the inning with a two-run single.

St. Anthony added a single tally in the second and scored twice in the fourth. WSS scored its two runs in the sixth.

The Lady Bulldogs improved to 16-2. They will play Monday at Dieterich.
