The St. Anthony Bulldogs used a big third quarter to gain control of the game, en route to a 66-45 Homecoming victory at home Friday night over St. Elmo/Brownstown.
St. Anthony owned a 26-17 lead at intermission and then blew it open by outscoring the Eagles 23-12 in the third period. Heading into the final eight minutes, the Bulldogs owned a comfortable 49-29 advantage.
Ryan Schmidt and Brock Fearday combined for 18 of those third-quarter points. Schmidt had 11 and Fearday seven and both players hit three-pointers during the scoring surge.
Schmidt finished with a game-high 21 points, while Fearday scored 15 and Keenan Griffith added 10.
The Bulldogs improved to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in the National Trail Conference. They will travel to Newton on Tuesday night.
