Kaden Eirhart scored eight points, including four clutch free throws down the stretch, helping the Altamont Indians post a 41-38 victory at home Tuesday night over St. Anthony.
This game wasn’t originally scheduled. St. Anthony was set to play North Clay and Altamont was supposed to play South Central, but both of those games were cancelled due to weather concerns. So St. Anthony and Altamont worked it out to play each other in a non-conference contest.
The game was close throughout. It was 7-7 after eight minutes. Altamont then built an 18-13 lead at intermission and still held a slim 26-24 edge after three quarters.
In the final eight minutes, the Indians converted 7-of-10 foul shots and got eight points from Eirhart to secure the victory. St. Anthony made only 4-of-9 foul shots in the last quarter.
Eirhart finished with a game-high 17 points. For the Bulldogs, Kennan Walsh led the way with 12 points and Grant Nuxoll added 11, including nine if the fourth period.
St. Anthony, now 2-1, will return to action Saturday with a home game against Newton.
